RULES FOR AGES 6 – 8 (8U)

7 v 7 (including goalie)

(4) 10 minute quarters (5 minute half)

Goalie must wear contrasting shirt & mouth piece (recommended).

ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY OR OTHER ACCESSORIES.

All free kicks are INDIRECT (has to go off someone else before it can go into the goal) and opposing team has to stay 10yd away from ball.

Infractions close to goal will be moved outside the box at ref’s discretion.

A Corner Kick is an Indirect Kick.
-
On Corner kicks the opposing team must stay the distance of the goalie box from ball.
-
The ball has to cross the line completely before it is considered a goal.
-
No penalty kicks.
-
All players must play at least 50% of game.
-
Shin guards are required for all players.
-
No offsides will be called.
-
Second throw-in for incorrect throw if still incorrect equals in loss of possession.

No coaches on field.

Spectators/Parents are to stay in designated area (on the hill)…NO PARENTS ALLOWED ON THE FIELD UNLESS AN INJURY OCCURS).

NO SLIDE TACKLING!!!

Ball must roll forward 1 full rotation on ALL FREE KICKS (including kickoffs)…Failure to do so results in losing possession.

On kickoffs the opposing team has to stay behind the “White Line” until the second touch from the offensive team or the ball crosses the white the line.

On Goal Kicks the opposing team has to stay behind the “White Line” until the ball crosses the “White Line” (and official will say PLAY, Go Ahead, etc…)

If opposing team touches the ball before the “White Line” result in a free kick.

When goalie has possession of the ball the opposing team has to stay behind the “White Line” (just like a goal kick), but the goalie doesn’t have to wait till the opposing team is on the other side of the “White Line” to play the ball.

The opposing just CANNOT play the ball until the ball crosses the “White Line”.

The ball cannot cross the “Mid Line” in the air when the goalie has possession of ball (other than a goal kick). The ball has to be touch by another player (any team). Results in a free kick for the opposing team at midline.

If a player attempts to kick at ball while on the ground the play is called dead and a free kick is issued for the opposing team (SAFETY REASON).

If a player falls down he/she is encouraged to get up quickly for their safety.

If a player could be in danger of safety the official will call the play dead and a drop ball will occur.

HAND BALL RULES

If a player is protecting themselves from getting hit in the face or personal areas play will not be stop unless results in a dead ball situation

If a player makes contact with the ball with his/her hands intentionally or catches the ball (other than the goalie) will result in a free kick

Teams will switch sides at the half.
